TFS kits are heavy timber post-and-beam — not light lumber bundles. The visual presence and long-term durability are in a different category.
Big-box kits are typically thin lumber assembled on site, with metal brackets sized for parcel shipping. Ours are real heavy timber — 8×8 posts, 4×7 trusses and rafters, 5×12 headers — pre-cut and pre-fit in our shop with in-house steel connector plates. The result reads as a permanent structure, not a backyard add-on, and it's built to last for decades.
